Respiratory physiotherapy is an area that deals with various chest conditions.

For in hospital treatment one will be referred for physiotherapy by the attending doctor, the physiotherapist will visit the individual in hospital and provide respiratory physiotherapy which may consist of nebulisation, chest percussions, shaking and vibration techniques, localised deep breathing exercises, coughing and breathing techniques to aid in expectoration of phlegm off of the lungs and also mobilisation in the hospital.
One could also be referred for respiratory physiotherapy post-surgery in order to help in the prevention of lung related conditions developing. For out of hospital physiotherapy for respiratory conditions one would most likely be referred by your house doctor or GP and then physiotherapy can be done in our rooms this treatment may include, nebulisation, chest percussions, shaking and vibration techniques, localised deep breathing exercises and retraining of breathing and some cardiovascular exercises could also be included.
